In spring 2012 Peterborough museum reopens and they have asked me to select my favourite hundred for an exhibition in their new galleries. My dilemma is which one do I submit and why. A title would be appreciated too.
Wandering the streets of my city I met Ade and Ben busking in a doorway and they wanted some urban shots for their portfolio. I suggested more action so tried the 'Abbey Road' angle where Ben nearly got hit by a big white limo. We then heard football fans chanting so of course followed and below are the results of this chance encounter.

Once again Brilliant Shots... I love the crossing one it captures the energy and passion in their love of music, nothings going to stop their flow be it football crowds or traffic...and as you say Ben nearly got by a white limo. Maybe one day they will be riding around in one of their own....Once again an amazing shot..

I love the first one. It has some dynamics in it. Both guitarists seem to have fun at this moment and while they are both running and jumping, the policeman is looking at you. I feel in this photo there is something happening. It also reminds me some pictures of the sixties in the music industry and the LP record covers. Can't say if it is Rolling stones or the Who.

I would go with the first picture, although both have strong points. In the second, the line of police is more threatening, but its harder to distinguish the musicians, and the tilt of the photo bothers me.

I would go for the 2d one, its message is much more powerful: The diagonal of the two guitar players is dynamic and the focus of this shot is solid on the guitar players whereas the police man on the left in the first shot confuses the shot for me as he is looking at you and not at the guitar players. Plus the solid wall of police is closer and therefore more threatening to me.

Congratulations on the upcoming exhibit Chris! Although I like the musicians' action in the second shot, I would still pick the first because of the street crossing. That's quite a jump too!

It's definitely the first one for me..You just KNOW that if the police werent on duty.. they are already synchronising their steps ready to do just the same!

Hi Chris, once again congratulations for your last pics, amazing as always. And above all congratulation for the reward, you deserve much more. When I surf again across your pages I see so much treasures that I think it would very be hard to select among them. So it comes to my mind a) ask people to propose "best" pics but it may make it too random. b) hang hundreds of your best on your wall, and every day you look at and drop a dozen, but it is costly and labour heavy. c)select a theme, a guideline, than you may resort to a) or b) to refine. When I look to your pics I think to these guide lines: a) 30 years of youth-midage-elderly, the 3 groups could be presented in parallel to show the changes b) homeless-disabled-marginalised. I also like very much your series about hospital life but it may be too narrow ? is it? mayb not ;) hope this helps I really hope I may be there

First one. Crop to a square just inside the traffic light. Classic album cover!

There are so many positives and constructive ideas. I just want to say thank you so much to all of you for taking the time to look and comment. By the way Sharon is the proud mum of Ben. I agree it has to be the first picture and it is one for my planned book and exhibition. Many thanks Chris.
