What I  enjoy  about street photography is the unexpected. You walk for miles and hours with little to show when suddenly you are rewarded. I spotted this guy on Leeds market and asked if I could take his picture with some bananas  but  It was a bit mediocre so I  asked for more animation . As ever it  is the eyes that have it. I am not much good at posing  formal portraits and that is why I love it when characters come  up with something that I could never invent or  imagine.

The long suffering Mrs P and  I thought our dog days were over but we now baby sit Murphy our daughters  Chinese Crested Powder Puff!  Has a lovely nature but  of late is nipping strangers with baggy trousers!  Inspired by the great Elliot Erwitt and apoliogies to him I seem to be taking a lot more canine pictures. ( see my Big Apple gallery)

You should try it as I think they are easier than people apart from the risk of being bitten. Most owners are more than happy to assist such as the two below. However I did throw the ball myself so it was a lucky shot. The great thing about dogs are they usually always make eye contact   which makes  the picture. To see the world from their view  I  place the camera at  their level and shoot blind so it is often pop luck. Perhaps  I should carry a mat and lay down.

My  lovely stage was set  and then I  waited. I was lucky as the man ducked, for he did not want to spoil my photograph.
